State set aside the most for „so called media companies”
In the first half of 2018 the Ministry of Culture and Information set aside around EUR10 million for financing media in Serbia, while record-breaking amount from state budget was awarded to “media” company that has no employees, a research conducted by the Independent Journalists‘ Association of Serbia (NUNS) has shown.
As NUNS has announced, the largest amount of RSD4.9 million was awarded to Belgrade based company “Essentis” at the competition of the Ministry for Television Projects, it being registered for production of media content on March 7th 2018, only one day prior to conclusion of the competition by the Ministry.
Zajecar based media company “Za medija” publically expressed disagreement with controversial results of state competition, and it also determined that “Essentis” has no employees, i.e. founder and director of the enterprise Tatjana Lukic is not employed in that enterprise.
The second largest amount of RSD4 million went to Novi Sad based advertising and marketing agency “RayDream Production”, which is not registered for production of media content but for advertising and marketing services.
As NUNS has published, these two so called media companies received as much as RSD12 out of a total of RSD72 million set aside, among the competition of 225 projects by TV stations, citizens’ associations and agencies across Serbia.
