The decree stipulates that members of the Military Police may also apply measures against civilians „when assisting the police in public places“, according to the website of the Government of Serbia. In such cases, the Military Police will immediately notify the nearest territorially competent organizational unit of the police and hand over the civilians and the necessary documentation for further proceedings.
