Mihajlovic: Americans interested in Morava Corridor
The American company Bechtel is interested in participating in the construction of Pojate-Preljina road section on Morava Corridor, Minister Zorana Mihajlovic says, adding that Memorandum of Cooperation will soon be signed.
The World Bank and the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Chinese, Azerbaijani and European contractors are included in infrastructure projects and American companies will soon be included as well, the Minster of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure has stated with “Radio Beograd”.
She has pointed out that this is important for Serbia, for its economic as well as political position.
“We are a small country, but our wealth lies in a geostrategic position and we need to utilize that. Every road is a political project and every road we build increases Serbia’s political, economic and infrastructure stability. That is why I do not give up on highways,” Mihajlovic has said.
The bypass around Belgrade will be completed in two and a half years, Minister has said, citing reconstruction and construction of high-speed rail from Belgrade to Budapest as ministry’s priorities.
She says that the EU does criticize our cooperation with China, but when they are interested in Chinese investments, reply from the Government is clear – everyone who wish to invest in Serbia are more than welcome.
