German investor gets subsidies worth EUR 800,000 and land FREE OF CHARGE

After being granted almost EUR 800,000 in subsidies, the German company that produces parts for the electric and automotive industries in Vlasotince has been granted a land lot free of charge by the local government in order to build a new facility. As explained by President of the Municipality Zoran Todorovic, the Gruner company will employ 200 more workers so it is justified to give them land lot without compensation. Namely, in November 2019, the Ministry of Economy approved to the company subsidies worth EUR 800,000, which will be paid to them in installments over the next three years. The first part of the subsidy, amounting to just over EUR 446,000 will be paid to the Germans in 2020, when they should employ the highest number of people – 90 new workers, while the other two installments will be paid over the next two years, until when Gruner has committed to permanently employ 110 more workers. In addition, Gruner acknowledged that no worker would be dismissed over the period of five years after the last installment was paid, and to provide high school students with the necessary internships. Gruner has been operating in Vlasotince since 2007. Since the beginning of its operations in Serbia, Gruner has already received two million euros in subsidies from the state budget.
