DISASTER in Gerontology Centre in Nis: 140 infected persons detected
Provincial Health Secretary Zoran Gojkovic, MD has announced that 140 infected persons have been detected in the Gerontology Center in Nis. The police in Nis have arrested M.S. (47) from that city, director of the Gerontology Center, after it was discovered that there was a large number of infected patients in that center, said the Nis Police Department. It is suspected that he, as an authorized person of the Gerontology Centre in Nis, did not take all the necessary measures and actions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, which resulted in the infection of 140 of the 256 people living there and four employees. This was confirmed at a regular press conference by provincial health secretary Zoran Gojkovic. He said that visits had been allowed, and that residents had been permitted to leave the centre, which had been strictly prohibited since the outbreak of the epidemic, and there were indications that the symptoms of the disease among some of the residents were concealed at the outset of the disease.
