DEPOSIT is being introduced for plastic, metal and glass bottles?
Serbian citizens might have to store plastic, metal and glass packaging, similar to current process with beer bottles. Namely, if the new draft of an Act on Packaging and Packaging Waste is adopted, citizens will have to store the packaging in order to be able to recover the money from deposit they gave. Filip Abramovic, Assistant Minister of Environmental Protection has stated with Prva TV station that the priority is to reduce waste disposal, new landfills, inability to use recyclable waste and environmental pollution. The packaging for which the deposit will be paid will be specifically marked, and it is the responsibility of manufacturer or importer to decide how much it will cost.
