Brnabic: So far 438,000 people VACCINATED, contract for 11 million doses
438,000 people have been vaccinated in Serbia so far, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic announced and stated that Serbia was absolutely the first in the region and the second in Europe in terms of the vaccination rate.
Brnabic pointed out that there would be enough doses for revaccination, because when each contingent of vaccines arrives, immediately one half is set aside, so that there will be enough doses for revaccination.
„Serbia is second in Europe, right behind Great Britain, but Great Britain, due to huge problems with coronavirus and a large number of infected people, decided to revaccinate people after 12 weeks, not after three weeks, that is, they practically give only one dose, which is not the case here,“ Brnabic told Pink TV.
The Prime Minister announced that a new contract on the procurement of 11 million vaccines would be signed at the beginning of the week. She recalled that Serbia had signed an agreement on the supply of 6.5 million doses of coronavirus vaccines.
She noted that 438,000 people had been vaccinated in Serbia so far. „And no one should worry about revaccination. We are actually the first in Europe, because we have already provided revaccination for all those vaccinated,“ said the Prime Minister.
She also stated that a certain amount of Pfizer’s vaccines would arrive on Monday. „In the region, Serbia is absolutely the first in terms of vaccination, Slovenia, Romania… are behind us,“ said Brnabic.
She added that in Serbia, Belgrade was ranked 21st among local self-governments in terms of the number of vaccinated.
